What is APAAR ID

  1. The National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 represents a significant shift in the Indian educational landscape. It establishes a framework for various initiatives. These initiatives are designed to improve the overall learning experience for students. A notable initiative stemming from this policy is the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCrF). It aims to promote greater mobility and flexibility within the educational system. This allows students to navigate different levels of education with ease.
  2. The introduction of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID is a crucial advancement. It aligns with the objectives of the NEP 2020 and the NCrF. This initiative embodies the principle of “One Nation, One Student ID.” It seeks to create a cohesive and accessible academic environment for learners throughout India. The APAAR ID functions as a lifelong academic identifier, encapsulating all of a student’s achievements and credentials in a single, easily accessible format.
  3. The APAAR system offers several key features that enhance the educational experience for students. Each student receives a unique 12-digit ID. This ID serves as a permanent record of their academic accomplishments. It includes degrees, scholarships, and awards. This identifier remains with the student throughout their educational journey, facilitating a smooth transition between different educational stages. Additionally, the system allows schools and higher education institutions to efficiently manage and access students’ academic data. It streamlines the processes of admission and recruitment. It also provides students with a secure digital repository for their academic records.
  4. APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit code. It will help students to digitally store, manage, and access all their academic credits. These credits include Score card, marksheets, gradesheet, degrees, diplomas, certificates, and co-curricular accomplishments. This ID functions as a permanent digital identity for the student in the education ecosystem.

Generate APAAR ID

First of all go to udiseplus.gov.in.
Click on login for all modules. Then go to student modules.
Login .

You will see complete profiles of children from all classes on your dashboard. These include profiles like GP, EP, and FP. After this is complete, go to Apaar module and select the class for which you want to create ID. Then select the name of the student. Generate the ID only when the Aadhaar data matches with your udise plus data. If not, this ID will not be created.

Required Fields in UDISE+

  1. The name of student as per student records in UDISE+ must match with the name of the student as per Aadhaar
  2. PEN of student is mandatory for generation of APAAR ID

UDISE- Unique Student Identifier (PEN), Student Name, Date of Birth (DOB), Gender, Mobile Number, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Name as per Aadhaar, Aadhaar Number

How student check APAAR status ?

As soon as APAAR ID is generated, it is pushed into student’s DigiLocker Account. Student can find virtual APAAR ID Card in Issued document section of DigiLocker. The status of APAAR ID generation can also be checked in the UDISE+ Portal under the APAAR Module, which displays a list of students along with their APAAR ID statuses. Students may request their school authority to check the status of their APAAR ID creation.

  1. Verification: Visit the school to verify demographic details
  2. Parental Consent: Obtain parental consent if the student is a minor
  3. Authentication: Authenticate identity through the school
  4. ID Creation: Upon successful verification, the APAAR ID is created and added to DigiLocker for secure online access
